My work focuses on the intersection of textiles and ceramics, creating sensory illusions that push the boundaries of how these materials are perceived. My practice is inherently interdisciplinary, rooted in the convergence of textile and ceramic arts. During the process, the materials form a structural unit. However, through high-temperature firing, the organic components vanish, leaving the porcelain to retain their memory.
I explore whether porcelain can undergo a transformation that mimics another medium. My objects are constructed using an experimental, reimagined weaving technique that allows for structures contradicting the traditional character of clay. By utilising multiple media simultaneously, I create hybrid objects that deceive the senses visually. Viewers encounter materials that defy expectation, bypassing material stereotypes and opening new dimensions of perception.
